Welcome to Our New Digital HQ - Let's Set the Record Straight

Hey there, and welcome to our shiny new digital home here on Kajabi.

I'm Lora O'Brien, and if you don't know me yet, well, you're about to. I'm an Irish native - born and raised between Dublin city and rural County Clare - a published author, teacher, and what we call a Draoí (that's DREE, if you're trying to pronounce it).

That means I'm a practitioner and priest of indigenous Irish magic and spirituality, in the simplest terms.

Jon O'Sullivan and I founded the Irish Pagan School back in 2017 because frankly, we were fed up with the amount of utter shite being passed off as 'authentic Irish spirituality' online.

Don't get me wrong - there are genuine seekers out there, people with real hearts and honest intentions. But they were drowning in a sea of Celtic NeoPagan nonsense, tourist trap mythology, and what I like to call 'Wicca with Shamrocks'.

This Is Not Your Fluffy Bunny Corner

Let me be clear from the start - this is not a space for pick n mix spirituality or cultural appropriation dressed up with a few Irish god names. This is about authentic connection to Ireland, her people, her land, her gods, and her traditions.

If you're looking for someone to tell you that whatever happens to feel good to you, or suit what you need, is perfectly valid Irish spirituality... you've come to the wrong place.

What we offer here is the real thing.

Messy, complex, sometimes uncomfortable, always honest - because that's what authentic tradition looks like. It's rooted in actual Irish history, our manuscript sources, our archaeological record, and the lived experience of native Irish people.

Why We're Here (And Why It Matters)

For too long, Irish spirituality has been defined by everyone except the Irish. From 18th-century English antiquarians making up 'ancient Druid wisdom' to modern American authors repackaging New Age concepts with Celtic branding, our traditions have been stolen, twisted, and sold back to the world as something they never were.

We're here to change that.

Every course we offer, every resource we share, every guided journey we record comes from a place of deep respect for what Ireland actually is - not what the tourist board wants you to believe, not what makes for good marketing copy, but the real, living, breathing tradition that connects us to this land and these gods.

What You'll Find Here

Our new digital HQ gives us space to share even more with you. You'll find:

  • Courses that dig deep into Irish history, mythology, folklore, magic, and spiritual practice - all taught by native Irish voices.

  • Guided Journeys using techniques I've developed over decades of work, rooted in Irish tradition.

  • Live Sessions where we tackle your questions head on (and I promise to call out the nonsense when I see it... you'll get used to that if you stick around, and maybe even come to appreciate it!).

  • Resources you won't find anywhere else - real source material, not rehashed Wikipedia entries or misunderstood (out of context) mini mythologies.

Whether you're Irish yourself, part of the diaspora trying to reconnect with your roots, or simply someone who feels called to walk this path with respect and authenticity, there's a place for you here.

A Word About Doing the Work

But here's the thing - and this is important - we're not going to hand you a neat little spiritual package tied up with a bow. This isn't McDonald's spirituality.

If you want connection to the Irish gods, to the Otherworld, to the deep magic of this land, you're going to have to work for it.

That means learning some history. It means wrestling with complex mythology that doesn't always make sense on first reading. It means questioning your assumptions and probably discovering that half of what you thought you knew was bollocks.

It also means showing up consistently, developing a daily practice, and understanding that spiritual growth - real spiritual growth - isn't always comfortable or pretty.

The Path Forward

As we launch this new phase of the Irish Pagan School, I want you to know that everything we do here serves one purpose: authentic connection. Connection to the gods of Ireland, to the land itself, to the ancestors who walked this path before us, and to each other as we walk it now.

This isn't about preserving museum pieces or staying stuck in the past. Irish spirituality is alive, evolving, breathing.

But these roots run deep into genuine Irish soil, not the fantasy Ireland of coffee table books and Hollywood films.

So welcome to our new home. Pull up a chair, grab a cup of tea (or something stronger if that's your preference), and let's do this work together.

The old gods are waiting.

Slán go fóill,
Lora

P.S.

- If you're thinking this all sounds a bit too serious or demanding, well, maybe it is. A Contemporary Irish spiritual path isn't for everyone. But if it's for you - if you feel that pull in your bones, that recognition in your soul - then you already know you're in the right place.
